Augusto Mazzini

AUGUSTO MAZZINI

Augusto Mazzini was born on February 7th 1939 in Siena, where he still resides.

He is an architect, a city planner and a graphic designer. When he was 26, he was City Planning Councillor for the Municipality of Siena (A. Aalto, Cultural Centre in the Fortress; pedestrianization of the historic centre; Intercity Planning).

He cooperates with Giancarlo De Carlo for Space and Society and for ILAUD. He is a teacher at the University of Florence and Ferrara. He was awarded the Marble Architectural Award Italy 2000 and the Alcoa Architettura 2001. He appeared on reviews and books; for instance, A.Restucci, L’architettura Civile in Toscana.Dall’Illuminismo al Novecento, Milan, 2002. Exhibitions: Prima di Leonardo (Before Leonardo); Montale; Fortini; Tozzi and Svevo; A+PS, Alison and Peter Smithson; etc.
